About The Program
The SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025-26, one of India’s largest scholarship programs, is an initiative of the SBI Foundation. This program aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low-income families across India, ensuring the continuity of their education. This scholarship is open to students from Classes 9 to 12 and for those who are pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses from the top 300 NIRF universities/colleges and IITs, or MBA/PGDM courses from IIMs. Also, students who are opting for study abroad can apply for this scholarship. Selected students can receive a scholarship of up to INR 20 lakh to support their educational endeavours.
About SBI Foundation
SBI Foundation was established by the State Bank of India in 2015 as a Section VIII company under the Companies Act, 2013, to undertake the CSR activities of SBI and its Subsidiaries in a planned and focused manner.

Eligibility Criteria
- Open for Indian nationals.
- Applicants must be studying in Classes 9 to 12 in the current academic year.
- Applicants must have secured 75% marks or above in their previous academic year.
- The gross annual family income of the applicants must be up to INR 3,00,000.
Notes
- There is a provision of 10% relaxation for students belonging to SC/ST (Percentage of marks – 67.50%, CGPA – 6.30).
- 50% of slots are reserved for females.
- 50% reserved for SC/ST (25% SC, 25% ST).
- Please upload your SBI Bank account passbook in the application form. If you do not have an SBI Bank account, kindly open one before proceeding with the application (having an SBI Bank account is mandatory for shortlisting).
Scholarship Amount & Coverage
The amount of financial support depends on the level and type of study:
- For school students (Class 9-12): Up to around ₹15,000/year.
- For undergraduate students (in eligible institutions): Amounts can go higher (some sources mention up to ₹75,000/year).
- For postgraduate / professional / medical / study abroad: The highest amounts are for overseas study: up to ₹20 lakh in some cases.
- The scholarship is designed to support until the completion of the course, not just a one-time grant.
How to Apply
- Applications are online via the designated portal (the official site).
- You’ll need to register, fill the form, upload required documents such as: previous year’s mark-sheet, income certificate, current year admission proof, bank account details, identity proof (Aadhaar) etc.
- You do not necessarily need to have an SBI bank account — any valid bank account for scholarship disbursement is acceptable.
- Selection process includes short-listing based on merit & financial criteria, then possible telephonic interview, and document verification.
