Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed the 12th or the equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
• 10+2 Intermediate Exam with Physics / Mathematics as a Subject in Any Recognized Board in India.

• Store Keeper Grade-II: 12 Pass from recognised Board or University.
• Engine Driver: Matriculation pass from a recognised Board or equivalent.
• Lascar: Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognised boards
• Civilian Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade): 10th Standard pass. Must possess valid Driving License for both Heavy and Light Motor Vehicles
• Peon/GO: Matriculation or equivalent pass.
• Welder (SemiSkilled): Matriculation pass or equivalent from recognised boards or ITI from recognised institute.

Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2025 Salary Structure

As per rule. ₹19,900 to ₹63,200/- per month.

• Store Keeper Grade-II: Level 2 (Rs. 19,900 – 63,200)
• Engine Driver: Level 4 (Rs. 25,500 – 81,100)
• Lascar: Level 1 (Rs. 18,000 – 56,900)
• Civilian Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade): Level 2 (Rs. 19,900 – 63,200)
• Peon/GO: Level 1 (Rs. 18,000 – 56,900)
• Welder (Semi Skilled): Level 1 (Rs. 18,000 – 56,900)

Selection Process

• All applications will be scrutinised subject to eligibility criteria and Admit card / call letters will be issued to the shortlisted candidates for document verification & appearing in Written Examination.
• Biometric/Mobile verification will be done before / on admission of the candidate for written examination.
• Candidates are allowed to write exam only with possession of ink-signed Admit Card / call letters.
• The Written Examination will be pen-paper based and one-hour duration.
• The qualifying marks in Written Exam is 50% and the candidates who qualify the Written Examination are to be shortlisted for the trade test (wherever applicable).
• In case of SC and ST candidates, the qualifying marks shall be 45%. No relaxation in qualifying marks is admissible to OBC and EWS candidates.
• Merit list will be prepared strictly based on merit position as per marks obtained in written examination and qualification in respective trade tests (wherever applicable).
• The merit list will be published on the ICG website alongwith necessary instructions.

• The application with duly affixed self-attested colour photograph should be accompanied by Xerox copies of all the educational, technical and experience certificates/marks sheets. caste certificates in prescribed format, etc.
• The duly filled application with all the requisite documents should be sent to “The Commander, Coast Guard Region (East), Near Napier Bridge, Fort St George (PO), Chennai-600 009” by Ordinary Post only within 45 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in the Employment News.
• It is mandatory that the envelope containing the application should be clearly superscribed in BOLD letters with notation “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF viz. Store Keeper-II, Engine Driver, CMTD(OG), Lascar, MTS (Peon, Daftry, GO),Welder(Semi Skilled) and also the category for which they applied for viz. UR/EWS/OBC(Non Creamy Layer)/SC/ST.
• Applications without these notations will be summarily rejected. Sample envelope is enclosed herewith.
