Indian Army TGC 143 Selection Process 2025
The selection process for TGC 143 (Technical Graduate Course) consists of four main stages:
1. Shortlisting of Applications (Based on Academic Marks)
- Candidates are shortlisted based on the marks obtained in their Engineering degree.
- Cut-off marks are determined separately for each engineering stream.
- Only shortlisted candidates are called for the SSB Interview.
- The cut-off varies depending on the number of applications and vacancies available for each discipline.
2. SSB Interview (Stage I & II)
The Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview is conducted at:
- Selection Centres: Allahabad (Prayagraj), Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Kapurthala.
SSB Interview includes two stages:
👉 Stage I (Screening Test):
- Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test
- Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT)
Candidates who qualify Stage I move to Stage II. Those who fail are sent back the same day.
👉 Stage II (Psychological Test, GTO, and Interview):
- Psychological Tests (TAT, WAT, SRT, SD)
- Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks (Group Discussion, Group Planning, Outdoor Tasks, Command Task, etc.)
- Personal Interview
🕐 Duration: 5 Days
3. Medical Examination
- Candidates recommended by the SSB must undergo a Medical Fitness Test.
- Medical standards are strictly evaluated for both mental and physical fitness by a Military Medical Board.
4. Final Merit List
- The final merit list is prepared based on:
- SSB Interview marks, and
- Medical fitness status
- Engineering academic marks are only used for shortlisting, not for final merit.
- The final selection depends on the availability of vacancies and candidate’s merit position.

- If you are a new user, click on “Registration” and fill out your basic details:

- Verify your email and mobile number through OTP.
3. Login (for Existing Users)
- After registration, login using your username and password.
- Click on “Apply Online” under the Officers Selection (Entry Schemes) – Technical Graduate Course (TGC-143) link.
4. Fill the Application Form
Carefully fill in all details:
- Personal information
- Educational qualifications (BE/B.Tech discipline, percentage, year of passing, etc.)
- Communication details
- Upload scanned copies of:
- Passport-size photograph
- Signature
- Relevant degree/mark sheets (as per notification)

5. Select Your Engineering Stream
- Choose the appropriate engineering branch from the dropdown list (as per your degree discipline).

- Once submitted, no changes can be made.
- Click “Submit” and take a printout of the application form for future reference.
7. Shortlisting & SSB Call Letter
- If shortlisted, you will receive an email/SMS notification for the SSB interview.
- SSB call letter will be available for download on your Join Indian Army profile dashboard.
