Stage 1 – Written Examination

The first stage of the Bihar Police Constable selection process is the OMR-based Written Examination, which evaluates the candidates’ General Knowledge and Aptitude. The Written Exam will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. Questions will be asked up to the difficulty level of up to Class 10th. Candidates will be required to score at least 30% marks in this stage to qualify to appear for the next stage of the selection process.

Stage 2 – Physical Standard Test

The second stage of the selection process is the Physical Standard Test, where measurements of candidates are taken to ensure their suitability for the intensive job profile of Police Constables. In the Bihar Police Constable PST, the following physical standards are checked –

Height: Candidates who do not meet the minimum height requirement are disqualified.
Chest: The chest of male candidates is measured to ensure it meets the minimum size requirement. Candidates who do not meet the requirements are disqualified.
Weight: Candidates who are overweight or underweight are disqualified.

Stage 3 – Physical Endurance Test

Bihar Police Constable Recruitment Procedure consists of a Physical Endurance Test (PET) to check the fitness of candidates through running, long jump, and shot put. Each event has a maximum of 50 marks, and the marks are given according to performance. PET checks whether candidates possess the physical requirements of the profession.

Male candidates must meet a height of 165 cm with a chest of 81-86 cm, while females need a height of 155 cm and complete a 1 km race within six minutes for males and five minutes for females.
