Important Dates & Details:

Qualification:

  • Engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. Engg) — 2025 pass-outs or final-year (2026).
  • Minimum 65% marks (or 6.5 CGPA) — General category; 60% (or 6.0 CGPA) — SC/ST/PwD/Transgender.
  • Age: ≤30 years (General) and ≤32 years (Reserved) as on 1 Jan 2026.
  • Diploma lateral entry candidates who joined engineering directly in 2nd year can also apply.
  • Preference to candidates domiciled in Jharkhand, Odisha, Punjab, and Maharashtra.

Full-time B.E./ B.Tech / B.Sc Engineering candidates pass-outs in 2025 or final-year students (passing out in 2026), in the following specified discipline:

  • Ceramic
  • Chemical
  • Civil
  • Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation/IEM
  • Mechanical
  • Metallurgy
  • Mineral
  • Mining

Programme Details

  • Selected Candidates will be placed as Engineer Trainee for a duration of 1 year
  • The trainees will be subject to evaluations on regular basis during the training period. On successful completion of training, they will be considered for full time employment as Assistant Manager (IL6) at Tata Steel
  • Training of those selected candidates who fail in their Degree programme or are unable to produce the pass certificate with the marks as detailed above, by 31st August 2026, will be terminated.

Selection Process (Stages)

The selection typically involves the following steps:

  1. Online Functional Domain Test – tests job-related/problem-solving knowledge.
  2. Behavioural Assessment – evaluates soft skills/fit.
  3. Interview(s) – can be virtual or in-person.
  4. Background Verification & Document Check.

Salary & Benifits:

  • Engineer Trainee will be offered an all-inclusive Stipend of ₹ 30,000 per month during the period of 1 Year Training.
  • Engineer Trainee will be covered under Medi-Claim scheme for self only (which includes hospitalization coverage of ₹ 2,50,000/- per annum and OPD coverage of ₹ 6,000/- per annum)
  • Post successful completion of training, a CTC of INR 7.4 lacs per Annum along with other perks and benefits as per company policy will be offered to those appointed as Assistant Manager

During Training

  • Stipend: ₹30,000 per month for 1 year as Engineer Trainee.
  • Medical Coverage:
    • Hospitalisation cover approx. ₹2,50,000 per year
    • OPD cover approx. ₹6,000 per year (Mediclaim).

After Training

  • Upon successful completion, trainees may be offered a full-time role as Assistant Manager (IL-6) at Tata Steel.
  • Annual CTC (post absorption): ₹7.4 lakh approx. along with additional company benefits.
