Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) was incorporated on 16.08.1963 under the India Companies Act, 1956 and over the years has evolved into a large Aeronautics Complex in South East Asia.
It is the flagship aerospace company of the country with comprehensive skills sets in Design,
Development, Manufacture, Maintenance and upgrade of Fighters, Trainers, Helicopters,
Transport Aircraft, Engines, Avionic systems and accessories.
HAL’s major supplies and services are made to Indian Defence Services- IAF, Army, Navy and Coast Guard.
The company has also established a foothold in Export in more than 25 countries, having demonstrated its quality and price competitiveness.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Director (Engineering and R&D) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to Chairman and Managing Director.
He/ She shall manage and ensure effective and efficient implementation of
all Research & Development (R&D), Design & Development (D&D), Project Development, and
development of new Products/ Technologies.
He/ She will be the Functional Head of all R&D Centres of the Company, and will be responsible for fulfillment of the Company’s objectives pertaining to R&D and D&D Projects, incl.
by way of:-
- Corporate R&D/ D&D Plans
- Corporate Engineering/ Product Development
- New Projects/ License Projects
- Protecting & developing Intellectual Property Right (IPRs)
- Promoting indigenization under Atmanirbhar Scheme of the Government.
- Pursuing implementation of Board decisions related to his area of responsibilities.
AGE LIMITS
Minimum Age – 45 Years
Maximum Age – 60 Years
QUALIFICATION
The applicant should be an Engineering graduate with good academic record from a
recognized University/ Institute.
Applicants with Post-graduate/ Research qualifications in Design/ Air-worthiness/ Production
and Engineering Support of Aircraft/ Helicopters will have added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
The applicant should possess adequate technical/ operational experience at a senior level of
management in an organization of repute, out of which at least five years during the last ten
years should have been in Design/ Airworthiness/ Production / Engineering support of Aircraft/ Helicopters related systems.
Experience of research/ leading Research & Design teams and published research work in
reputed journals will be desirable.
